Flamprop is an obsolete herbicide usually formulated as the methyl variant. It has a low aqueous solubility and is not volatile. It can be persistent in soil systems. Very little data is available regarding its toxicity to biodiversity but it does appear to be moderately toxic to aquatic species. It has a low oral toxicity to mammals including humans.
Data alerts
The following alerts are based on the data in the tables below. An absence of an alert does not imply the substance has no implications for human health, biodiversity or the environment but just that we do not have the data to form a judgement.
An obsolete herbicide once used for the post-emergence control wild oats and other grass weeds.
Example pests controlled
Avena fatua, Alopercurus myosuroides

Chemical structure
Isomerism
A chiral molecule existing as the L- and D-isomers, flamprop is an unresolved isomeric mixture. Where the substance is stereospecific as the D-isomer it is known as flamprop-M.
