Chlorthion (Ref: BAY 22/190 )
Last updated: 24/07/2024
(Also known as: methyl chlorothion ; chlortion; compd 22/190)

SUMMARY
Chlorthion is an organophosphate insecticide. It has a low aqueous solubility and not considered to be volatile. Chlorthion is not persistent in soil systems and, based on its physico-chemical properties, it is only slightly mobile and not expected to leach to groundwater. It is moderately toxic to most biodiversity but there may be a higher risk for bees. It has a moderate mammalian toxicity, is a cholinesterase inhibitor and a neurotoxin.
Data alerts

The following alerts are based on the data in the tables below. An absence of an alert does not imply the substance has no implications for human health, biodiversity or the environment but just that we do not have the data to form a judgement.
