GENERAL INFORMATION
Description
A predatory mite that may be used for the biological control of certain mites in citrus
Example pests controlled
Citrus thrips (Scirtothrips citri); Citrus red mite (Panonychus citri); Two-spotted spider mite (Tetranuchus urticae); Immature stages of scale
Example applications
Citrus; Advocados
Efficacy & activity
-
Appearance and life cycle
Adult mites are pear shaped and glossy. The assume ther colour of their food so tend to be white when feeding on pollen but yellow when feeding on thrips. Eggs are oblong and almost transparent. The larvae are six legged and also translucent.
