Description

A parasitoid that can be used for the biological control of weevils

Appearance and life cycle

Tiny wasps (~1-2mm long) brown (females) or black (males) in colour. Female wasp lays her eggs in moving adult weevils. Larva hatch and feed internally. When fully grown the larva is fully grown and the larva is fully grown and the larva is fully grown it forces its way out of the dead weevil, spins a white silky cocoon and pupates in the soil.
