Description	A predatory beetle that preys on whitefiles and which may be used for their biological control
Example pests controlled	Glasshouse whitefly (Trialeurodes vaporariorum); Tobacco whitefly (Bernisia tabaci). May also attack spide rmites if whitefly populations are low

Appearance and life cycle	The adult beetles are small and less than 1mm in length. They are a shiny, black colour with a brown head. Newly-emerged adults are pale-brown to almost white. The eggs are 0.2 mm long, clear and twice as long as they are wide. The elongate larvae are pale yellow. Both adult beetles and larvae will prey on all species and stages of whitefly but prefers eggs and nymphs.
